Woke at 4 a.m. after turning in early last night. By 6 a.m. I’d run the last batch of tomatoes for the season through the strainer and had them bubbling on the stove.
Once the tomatoes are safely in the canner, I’ll start on something a little more autumn-flavored: the second batch of apples. These are organic-by-choice rather than organic-by-neglect as was the first batch of apples that I used in the “Boozy Fruit” project this weekend.
I’ve got to get this second batch of apples processed within the next day and a half–the last CSA delivery of the season is tomorrow, and I’m planning on getting some pears on Wednesday!
